Twinkle Toes

Such a sweet, sweet baby image! It reminds me of an Anne Geddes photograph with all the dressed up babies. The sweet butterfly is from the Twinkle Toes line from Modern Sugar Blvd. Underneath the baby is the phrase, "Bundle of Joy" in a pale pink that just didn't want to photograph! (It was shy). Cardstock is all PTI, and the DP is from a Debbie Mumm Nursery Stack from Jo-Ann's.

I was able to get a couple of challenges into this card...the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp "With wings" challenge, and the sketch challenge on StampTV. I'm sure there is probably a "yellow, pink, & green" color challenge out there somewhere!!

Jazzy Inspirations

Getting this one in with a few hours to spare!! Color challenges are that for me...a challenge. That's why I try them every now and then...to make me grow!! Tenia does the Jazzy Inspirations Challenge every two weeks, and I'm a spotty player alonger!! :-) I used my new Victoria Case Kitty stamp that I won, popped up on dimensionals, and PTI products for the paper products. The felt flower is from Target dollar spot. IRL the image is centered on the black...it just looks wonky from the angle I took the picture!

Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!! Do you remember that phrase from childhood?? Well, I don't think we outgrow ice cream, at least not me!! We eat it year round.

This is a free Digi image from the Digi Shack that Emily has up on her blog for you until the end of this month. I'm also going with the DareU2Digi Stamp challenge of using pink & green.

Modern Sugar Blvd has a free digi image along with a challenge with some sweet blog candy up for grabs over on the Sugar Blog. Garden Girl

I'm so thrilled that I can finally share Garden Girl with you!

Who is someone who goes above and beyond their job description (and contract hours)?? Our children's' teachers!! My daughter's teachers have always done so much for her and the other children in her classes. Much of it is unseen by parents.

National Teacher Appreciation Day is on May 5th this year and what better way to show appreciation than with a beautiful flower. I used Garden Girl from Modern Sugar Blvd to decorate a flower holder for some violas. I used a piece of transparency and the For Keep{sake} Timeless Template to make the box. Garden Girl was colored using pencils, copics, and Bic Mark-It pens. I flipped the image so she is facing the opposite direction. That is such a wonderful thing about digital images!! You can flip, rotate, and resize to fit your needs! Be sure to thank a teacher!!

Check out what the other Sugars have made!

(P.S. The server that hosts MSB was having difficulties yesterday!!)

Store's Open!!

Modern Sugar Blvd is open!!!! Scoot on over to check things out! I've been able to see "behind the scenes" and the digital images are fantastic! A mix of modern & retro, something I haven't seen around and a great new look.

My image debuts on Wednesday, so I can't give you a full view until tomorrow, but here is a little peak to get you thinking!

Stopping by...

...to say, "Hello" with this cute little card! I apologize to those of you signed up in Reader...the last two times I've tried to make a post, I've hit return right after typing the title, and it's posted rather than going down to my "composition" box!

This shape card was easy to make...I need to do more of these! I used my largest circle scallop nestabilities with a bit of the edge above the top to leave the fold. The DP covers the cardstock and I decided to not trim the "fold" area, but leave it whole. Studio G stamps colored with markers and a touch of pencil for the flower buds, PTI sentiment.

Modern Sugar Blvd Grand Opening!! Tomorrow at 12 noon mountain time. There will be releases all week, contests, freebies, and more!! Be sure to check out the store site and visit these ladies who have made some awesome stuff with the releases for tomorrow (I'm not sure if they'll be showing their full projects today or Monday...just keep peaking!)

Sneak Peek!!

I'm a Sugar! A Modern Sugar Blvd DT member! I'm so excited to have been chosen as a DT member!! I have a link to the store in my side bar, and will be getting the blog links to all DT members up this weekend.

I can't share a full project with you until Monday, but I can do some sneak peeks! This is from my "not a card" project. Can you guess what it might be?!?

Beautiful weather here today, and forecasted for tomorrow, too. Will be outside most of the time picking up sticks, mowing, starting a few items for a garden, helping DH change the brakes on the truck, listening to the birds, etc. I love spring!!

Brentwood is here!

Is Brentwood so cute or what?!? I've really been wanting an owl stamp (yes...they are the rage), and finally found my style with this one! Here is what Jessica of JessicaLynnOriginal has to say about him:

Brentwood is the type of owl that everyone wants to be like and be friends with. He is not afraid of wearing silly costumes, visiting exotic locations, wearing some fake eyelashes, or just being your friend.

There are 21 one stamps in this adorable line. Brentwood as a pirate, Robin Hood, visiting the moon, etc. Let's not forget his girlfriend, Ruby! They both have fun dressing up in costumes. Be sure to read the "story" info that's with each individual stamp...how fun and entertaining!

I embossed before coloring the image with a combo of pencils & markers. I added stickles to the fireflies' (lightning bugs where I'm from) wings. Sentiment is computer generated and up on pop dots. It says: How owls really see in the dark! DP is Basic Grey: Mellow.

Happy stamping!

This was supposed to be a Thursday post, but I'm too excited about this card to wait!!

Dragon Kite

Here is a nice and happy card for you this afternoon! Just love the colors. I'm entering this into the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenge of the week: bling. I'm not much of a "bling" kinda girl...but I do like sparkle & shine! So, my bling comes from stickles around the image and a clear Spica Glitter pen all over the kite and bows. If you click the card, you should get a larger image and be able to see the shine!

Image is from Dustin Pike and colored with pencils. This is the first time I tried making "clouds" on a card, and am very happy with how it turned out for me! Oh yes, this is also an older SCS sketch challenge! It went so well for my card.

Are your taxes done and mailed? Or are you stressing and down to the final hours! Our federal were mailed Monday, and state, today. Every year we say we're not going to put it off...but has that happened yet??? Nope!! Now...we did our preliminary figuring back in February (we each do it separate then compare numbers), but never did the "final" until Sunday evening!

Swaps!

No card to show for today, but I have been busy doing some coloring. Oh, I did make a quick little gift tag/thank you...but nothing to famous to show.

Not sure how...but I've sign up for 3 swaps over at SCS! I didn't know they could be this fun because there is so much chatter going on with everyone!! There wasn't this interaction with the two I did last summer. Anyway, go check out and sign up for the Forest Card Swap and tell the "Ranger" that Sharon/Sherberts sent you! I'll get a prize! For me to get a prize, you must sign up before her first post in the morning. Even if you miss the deadline...go ahead and join the fun!

This is an old picture (back when we had a digital camera that used floppy disks!) from the Smokey Mts. in 1999 for your "Forest" mood setting!

Raspberry Fizz

Several months ago I made a purchase of Raspberry Fizz patterned paper from Papertrey Ink. This is the first I've used it. I'm thankful that Sara's Perfect Match challenge this week was to use Raspberry Fizz in a creation. This is a little 4x4 card for DD...it uses her first initial in the middle. Cardstock and DP are both Raspberry Fizz.

Hope everyone is having a happy Easter day. We did an egg hunt outside here at our house early afternoon. Even though it said 50 degrees, it's very windy and we wore winter coats. Some new tulips opened today, and my late blooming daffodils are almost ready!

CAS Bunny

This is a very, very simple & fast cas (clean & simple) card. I used PTI Vintage Cream cardstock and made a score line 1/2 inch from the top and bottom. The bunny & sentiment is from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps "I'd Pick You" collection. I masked off the mouse because for this one, I just wanted one animal.

I've been working on my projects for the Modern Sugar Blvd DT call-out. I'm really excited about my "not a card" creation. Can't wait to share it with you after the 20th!

Recipe Challenge

Recipe Challenge...sounds yummy!! I tried one of these for the first time ever over at SNR Card Universe. This one is located in the Victoria Case Stamps group. We were to use 1 circle, 2 colors, 3 layers, and 4 embellishments. I colored two white Prima paper flowers with Bic Mark-it's so they would match the DP from Basic Grey. Ribbon is American Crafts.

I'm one of the top 20 finalists for Modern Sugar Blvd. design team!! It will be narrowed down to 10, and I'll find out the news on April 14th. I received two images to do some more creating with, but I can't share those until the Grand Opening on the 20th. I've some ideas floating around, and will get started with those tomorrow as they are due Sunday!

Easter Bunny

I've been busy today making Jell-o jiggler jelly beans and boiling eggs for home and school. I've also finished two cards (only showing one today) and hope to maybe make a third. Also, need to make a cute topper for an Easter bag of chocolate goodies for my helpers.

For this card I used a digi image from Dustin Pike. Such cute things he has!! I used a combo of Copic and Bic Mark-it pens for the coloring. This is a larger 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card so my bunny would fit the sketch for the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge. My design paper is from The Sasha paper Collection...full of bright colors!

Happy Spring CAS

Yes, happy spring because more snow is on the way!! Snow is supposed to start after midnight, and then maybe an inch tomorrow. Here I was thinking about putting my winter coat away!

This was made awhile ago for a CAS sketch challenge over on StampTV. I used Studio G stamps, and embossed a rectangle with a nestability. I stamped off to get the lighter shade of purple and green.

I'd pick you

I was so excited to finally make a card using my new stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy: I'd pick you. I colored with pencils and can't remember if I used baby oil or GooGone for the blending...they're both sitting out on the table. The DP is Basic Grey Sultry. Loved how it looks like the animals are sitting in a field of flowers! Kept with the trend of not adding a sentiment, and waiting until I know what I'll used the for.

Oh boy, I've just kept yawning all day long!! I think I need to get to bed much earlier tonight than I've been. (Or stop staying up late reading good books!!) Ohhh, there was another one! They are sooo catching! I can't even talk/type about it without yawning. In fact, DH & DD think it's fine entertainment to try and get me to yawn! (Are you yet??!)

Anyhoo....this card also works for the Stamp Something challenge of "Happy Easter Something" because of the cute little bunny. One of the things DD and I did this year for our Easter/spring decorations is to put a bunch of her bunny & chick stuffed animals all over the house.

Modern Sugar Blvd.

I've decided to take the plunge and begin trying out for some design teams! A brand new store, Modern Sugar Blvd. will be opening April 20th. I used their free digi image "Shopper Girl" for my "tryout" card. She's a modern girl with attitude and knows just what she wants while out and about!

I used Glossy Accents on her boots to give them a great shine, and a pop dot behind one of the shopping bags to give it dimension. I also added tissue paper to that bag, just like a fancy boutique might do. It is paper I saved from an order I received back in January...just knew it would come in handy for crafting or gift giving!

Happy crafting!

Paper: True Black, Summer Sunrise (PTI), DP Blossoms & butterflies (DCWV Stack)
