Color challenge
Hi all! Just a quick one here. My card tonight is for the Victoria Case stamp challenge of dark blue, light blue, and ivory.
Be sure to vote for my swap card, at the point in time I'm writing this, I'm in second place! See yesterdays post for what to do! Thanks!

Jazzy Inspirations #16

Ahhhh....some cool thoughts to send your way, or at least a picture of "cool"! The Jazzy Inspiration this week is to use the colors Teal/Turquoise, Black and White from The Three Trumpets poster. I wanted to be sure to keep the "3" element and used snowflakes from a Wal-mart set I picked up last year. The sentiment reads "Warm Winter Wishes" and is from Papertrey Ink, as is the ribbon. The DP truly fades from a darker to lighter blue toward the bottom...not bad photography!

Color challenge
The challenge this week for Victoria Case is to use hot/dark pink, orange, and white. Love the "hot" summer colors! But, I had to search hard to find some orange DP. The only other that I could find was a sheet of #20 Tony Stewart paper for a scrapbook page. Saving that for some pictures from a race, and of his cars at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.
The pink paper is all from Papertrey Ink, as is the pink DP. I used a white Inkssentials pen to make the dots around the cat, and to try some highlights on the bow. Sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.
Happy crafting!

MSB Saturday Challenge #10
Crazy weather...it is only supposed to reach 67 degrees or so today...and the normal for this time of year is about 85+ ! Oh well...with the cool weather, I've felt a bit energized and have done a few things around the house, and taken a nice walk this morning.

Today's challenge from the Modern Sugar Blvd. blog is to use purples! Dark, light, in-between, any shade! There can also be some black & white. To go along with the color challenge, a sketch is also posted for you to use.
I also went with a bit of a polka dot thing, too! Even though it looks pink in the picture, the DP is Lavender Moon From Papertrey Ink. In fact, all paper on the card is from PTI. Ribbon is American Crafts, and the sweet baby is Twinkle Butterfly from MSB. Stickles are on the circle parts of the image.
Happy crafting!

Friendly Mouse
This card totally morphed into a clean & simple card as compared to the fru-fru creation I had in my head. Once I got out some supplies...and things were laying about and on top of each other, I decided to not use any designer paper, and go for a simple look!
My mouse is a sweet digital from Victoria Case Designs. And (surprise, surprise) I'm using it for this weeks challenge of red, black, and kraft over on the VC Challenge blog. I had colored a mouse image last week, but the flower had shades of orange, and I wanted red to go with the challenge.
This is a large 5x5 card, and the mouse image is up on foam dots. It's colored with Copics and Bic Mark-it pens. I used Creative Memories circle punches, and Papertrey Ink cardstock and sentiment.
Happy crafting!

Kitty's
Here is the new kitten, Patty Patches, and the card she helped inspire! And below, is a better view of the card!
The Victoria Case Stamp Challenge this week is black, white, and pink. I decided it would be okay to make the kitty into my daughter's new kitten, rather than just a black and white kitty. The rhinestone heart is actually one that I won in a Victoria Case contest several months ago. And, to top things off, DD has been begging me to use lots of pink, and this card was perfect for it! DP is from last years DCWV Summer Stack. Image colored with pencils and baby oil.
One more kitty view...
Thanks for stopping!

Jazzy Inspirations #13
Good afternoon everyone! Meow, Meow...I'm a Jazz Cat again this week! Our colors to use from a Paul Chambers CD were: dark green, dark purple, white, and gray. Come and join in over at Jazzy Inspirations. Tenia will soon be have call-outs for design team members!
(Personal stuff here...click away if you wish) Daughter and I are very bummed out...we were not able to pick up the kitten this morning. We had filled out application at the shelter yesterday, and they said to call before coming in to see if it was approved. Well, I called but no answer, so we headed on in (25-30 min. drive). Get there and they say application not approved because all current animals in household not current on shots. They said the vets said '08 for the cat and '03 for the dog. Wrong-O!!!! The cat was just there two months ago (figured out later they had the date for a different cat...who then ran away). Um, we know the dog has been there since '03 because there is dog hair in our current truck, which wasn't even built in '03! (I'm a bit peeved). Now granted, we can't remember if it was last summer or summer '07 that we took her in....but still, it hasn't been that long!! If the shelter had answered the phone, I would of had time to run the dog to the vets this morning for shots (close by) and made it to the shelter before they closed at noon. So, at one on Monday we'll run to the vets, run dog home, then go to the shelter and hope the kitten DD has her heart set on is still there. If it weren't for that, we'd find a free one, but really wanted to "save" animal from the shelter. Also wish that when we were there yesterday they would have said they check current rabies shots, as I would have called the vets myself to make sure. I know I tossed some of those "record" papers from the vets when I last cleaned on my desk...never thought we'd need them for something. Okay....rant is over...thanks for listening!! DD has been waiting since March to get a kitten, and the extra days are tough for her. We had said she had to wait until school was out for the summer so it wouldn't be home alone.

Jazzy Inspirations 12

Some great colors for this weeks Jazzy Inspirations! Love my blues & greens! They are the colors I wear the most and that you'll find in my closet. Thanks Tenia!
Tomorrow (Saturday afternoon) over on the Modern Sugar Blvd blog, your challenge will be to make what ever you like!!! Pick your colors...pick your sketch...pick your fav Sugarlicious image! How easy can it be?! I used a new image that will be released tomorrow, along with many fantastic gals!!
Paper & ribbon are from Target $1 Spot, and the "Yipee!" is from Hero Arts.
Ahhhhh, hear that sound??? Wait, what sound? I don't hear anything. Right! No alarm clock on the weekdays!!! (at least not too often) School is out and I am done stripping down my classroom and don't need to go back next week!! Woohoo!
Have a fantastic weekend!

What is better for a birthday than a cupcake!!! No need to mess with a fork & plate...just grab one and eat! I always ask for white cupcakes with Quick as a Wink frosting (chocolate made with Semi-Sweet morsels) for my birthday. YUM-O!!
Saturday's challenge on the Modern Sugar Blvd blog is to use the sketch and brown, pink, and ivory. It's really been interesting to see what all my fellow sugars have come up with...using the same cupcake and colors...so much variety! Be sure to hop on over to the MSB blog Saturday afternoon to check it all out! Hmmmm, does something smell good in here??? (hint, hint)
Happy crafting,
Sharon

Modern Sugar Blvd Challenge

Ahhh....something that I love...a sketch challenge (and an easy one at that) and a color challenge that uses bright colors all rolled into one! Check out the challenge over at the Modern Sugar Blvd Blog today to see all the wonderful samples from the rest of the design team! Along with the sketch and sitting girl image, we were to use hot pink, turquoise, and lime green on our card. I had to laugh, because the day we received our info, the top I was wearing was turquoise with lime green and white!!
My girl was colored with Copics & Sharpie markers, then popped up on foam dots after cutting her out. I just love the bright, cheerful colors in this card! They are so "me"! Hope you can join us for the fun! I'm not sure what time the MSB post will go "live" as they are operating in Mountain Time Zone. So, be sure to check back a bit later if it's not there at first. I am scheduling this post ahead of time, as I will be gone from dawn to late afternoon participating in a May Day bird count.
Happy crafting!

Jazzy Inspirations 11

Good morning everyone! Guess what? I'm a "Jazz Cat of the Week" again!! I took a very literal approach to today's card. As I was putting it together, I decided I really like the combination of the red, yellow, and black. Don't think I've used that before. I created the border around the bird image using an EK Success border punch, then some of the "negative" scraps around my "thanks so much" phrase from PTI.
Go check out more inspiration over at Jazzy Inspirations and join us for this weeks fun challenge!
Happy crafting!

City Girl

Here is a preview of a "soon to be released" image from Modern Sugar Blvd. City Girl knows what she wants...and has "power-tude" (yep-made that word up!) I might make up a little sentiment spot to add that says, "What attitude??" Be sure to check out the MSB Blog tomorrow for a brand new challenge! I've had a looky-see and it's right up my alley!!
My card fits the bill for the blue and green challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar this week. I used papers that I picked up a couple of weeks ago in the Target $1 Spot. Just love bright & bold!

Jazzy Inspirations
Getting this one in with a few hours to spare!! Color challenges are that for me...a challenge. That's why I try them every now and then...to make me grow!! Tenia does the Jazzy Inspirations Challenge every two weeks, and I'm a spotty player alonger!! :-) I used my new Victoria Case Kitty stamp that I won, popped up on dimensionals, and PTI products for the paper products. The felt flower is from Target dollar spot. IRL the image is centered on the black...it just looks wonky from the angle I took the picture!
Happy stamping!

Ice Cream
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!! Do you remember that phrase from childhood?? Well, I don't think we outgrow ice cream, at least not me!! We eat it year round.
This is a free Digi image from the Digi Shack that Emily has up on her blog for you until the end of this month. I'm also going with the DareU2Digi Stamp challenge of using pink & green.

Modern Sugar Blvd has a free digi image along with a challenge with some sweet blog candy up for grabs over on the Sugar Blog. Be sure to check out today's new releases, and more to come on Friday and Sunday!!! It is so much fun over there! We also have a group over on Paper Craft Planet that is open to all!! Come and join us!
Happy crafting!

Perfect Match Color Challenge
The colors for Sara's Perfect Match Monday made me think "springtime!". I used stamps from Stampdendous that I picked up at Archiver's Thursday. Looked around my work area, and can't find the bag they were in to tell you set name!! I know it said it was an "Archiver's Exclusive" on the bag. Used colored pencils and baby oil to color the images, and added my own ground/grass. The bunny has fun flock on his tail, which isn't showing up too well in the photo.
DD has made a card, and we'll be back later today or tomorrow with that posting. She's very excited about sharing!
Happy crafting!

Fast Invite
Last night I quickly made a "fast, easy, and easy to mass reproduce" invitation for a Studio G challenge on Papercraft Planet. Imagine my surprise when I logged in the morning and found out I was the winner!!! I'll have a surprise arriving in the mail hopefully within a week! I used Sara's Perfect Match Color combo for this week...Aqua Mist, Spring Rain, and True Black. I really wanted to use all PTI products, but with the limited amount of stamps I have from them, going with something different worked best for me this week. Paper and ribbon are PTI, stamps and ink Studio G.
Look who was trying to "help" when I was setting up to take a picture...the real life Critter the Cat! I had tried some pictures last night, but they weren't so great. The sun was shining today, and often I'll put the photo cube in a "sun spot" for the picture taking. Naturally, Critter loves to lay in sun spots! I still had to mess with the color and saturation settings quite a bit to have the aqua mist look different than the ribbon.

Jazzy Inspirations 7
I was able to combine two challenges with this card...Jazzy Inspirations and a sketch challenge for Whimsy Stamps. As I was editing the picture, I noticed a stray little fuzzy from the flower...ug! The flower is from a package that I found in the Easter craft section at Hobby Lobby. They also have a little adhesive dot on the back so it was easy stuff to stick on the card!
Really, really hoping to get something done this weekend...both with house cleaning and card making! Daughter has had several evening activities this past week, and we haven't been home much.
Happy crafting!

Courtney's Closet #33

I just love the flowers in Courtney's dress this week! (This is Libby's daughter, not mine) So bright, happy, and cheerful! I used colored pencils and baby oil to color my flower, which is from Hero Arts. Gina K's StampTV technique challenge this week is to color a picture using pencils and OMS (orderless mineral spirits).
Baby oil or Goo Gone also work if you don't have oms. I tried both the baby oil and Goo Gone, and didn't find much difference between the two. I've been doing a bit of practicing with this technique, and like the results with the purple. Four different shades of purple in the image. I also tried the same flower, but with an orange/yellow scheme, and the colors didn't blend/match as well.
The butterfly was not a planned item, there was going to be some ribbon...but I smudged up some of my sponging, and needed something to cover it up! Butterfly fit the bill.
Happy crafting!

Green Day
Sara's Perfect Color Match for this week is "Green Day" using PTI's Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, and New Leaf. I had my best success to date with embossing! This was the third try for the crocodile, and the best one! I'm a bit paranoid about catching my paper on fire, so I emboss in the kitchen so I can quickly run any flaming paper to the sink! Hopefully, this will never happen!
For my sketch, I used one from Jeanette's Sweet 'n Sassy sketch challenge last week during the SnS release party. With using both color & sketch challenges, this card came together very quick for me! Also, a bit more layers than my normal, but I'm feeling good about this one! I used my Creative Memories Oval cutter, and Label 1 Nestabilities, so there was no measuring!!
Still very cold here, but the birds were singing like a spring day when I arrived home from work. And, it's staying lighter in the evenings!!! About three and a half weeks and my daffodils should be blooming!!!
Happy crafting!
